Jean Muggli is a former cosmetic store manager but she isn’t famous for her professional life. She is known for being the ex-wife of the former American Football player, Michael Strahan.
Born on November 30, 1964, in North Dakota, the United States, Jean is the daughter of Anthony Alphonse Muggli (a retired military man) and Marry Muggli (a housewife). She walked down the aisle with the football star but couldn’t hold on to her relationship and eventually divorced.

We all know, Jean Muggli tied the knot with the American footballer, Michael Strahan on July 18, 1999, but do you know how they met and how their love life started?

Well, the duo first met when Jean was working as a shop attendant at a salon plus spa in 1994. It was love at first sight for Michael. He kept on visiting the shop and soon after, he and Muggli started dating.
I figured either he was the cleanest man on the planet or he wanted to ask me out.

Jean was, in fact, never interested in the athlete because she disliked the “typical macho” athlete and she thought Michael was the same. However, she soon found out that it wasn’t the case and hence, their love life started which led to their marriage in 1999.
Prior to their marriage, her husband was married to his first wife, Wanda Hutchins. With her, he gave birth to two kids, Tanita Strahan and Michael Strahan Jr.

Jean Muggli with her ex-husband, Michael Strahan welcomed twin daughters in 2004. They were named Sophia and Isabella Strahan. As of this writing, they are 16-years-old.

One of their daughters, Sophia wants to become a professional equestrian and has already started participating in Adult Amateur Individual Championships. While Isabella has also competed in small equestrian competitions, she seems to love volleyball more and was a part of Cape Fear Academy (Sophia was also a part of the volleyball group).
Jean Muggli’s Controversial Divorce!
After six long years of marriage, Jean Muggli and Michael Strahan’s relationship came to an end. According to the reports by the New York Times, the major reason for their divorce was domestic violence and Michael’s extramarital affairs. It was Michael who had filed for the divorce.
Days before the filing, Muggli had filed a domestic violence complaint against him. Talking about the complaint, Strahan told that he would never physically or psychologically harm any of his loved ones, especially his wife. The case was dismissed after Muggli accepted that her husband hadn’t touched her.
Divorce Alimony
Following their separation, Jean Muggli received $15.3 million as the divorce settlement. In addition, Michael also had to pay $18 thousand per month for child support which was later reduced to $13,000 in 2008 when Strahan retired from the NFL. Moreover, the custody of their kids was also given to Jean.
Following their divorce, Muggli took her twins to live in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her farm featured a beach volleyball court, a tennis court, and a horse-riding ring. It also featured a half-basketball court and a five-stall barn.
In 2019, Jean claimed that Michael wasn’t paying enough and that he owed her over $540 thousand. Previously, Jean refused to send her daughters to Europe for a vacation with their dad. She held on to the passports and argued that she needs to be paid $43,178.50 for horse maintenance. The court ordered against Muggli and Strahan took his two kids on a vacation to Portugal and Croatia.
Child Abuse Accusations Against Jean Muggli
If the divorce settlements weren’t enough, Michael Strahan alleged that his former partner, Jean Muggli is abusing their daughters as per the reports by TMZ on March 11, 2020. The news outlet claimed that the former NFL player is trying everything in his might to get full custody of their kids.

Michael is trying to prove his wife as a bad mother. He also claimed that his daughters are missing their volleyball matches, equestrian practices, and therapy sessions due to their mother.
Recently, on October 13, Michael agreed to dismiss the claims after both of the parents were given joint custody. According to the court orders, their kids will now spend a week at their father’s and the next at their mother’s.
