Mahesh Jadu: What to Know about The Witcher Actor?
Table of Contents
Australian actor, Mahesh Jadu received recognition after he appeared in the Netflix fantasy drama, The Witcher as Vilgefortz of Roggeveen.
Originally from India, Mahesh Jadu was born on October 26, 1982, in Carlton, Victoria, Australia, as Mahesh Jadunundun. He was raised alongside two sisters: Aarti and Sandhya Jadu.
Became Famous from Neighbours
Mahesh Jadu became a household name after he was cast in the Australian television soap opera, Neighbours as Dr. Doug Harris.
Being an achiever, he’s had to cultivate a high confidence which often gets mistaken for arrogance. At work, he may seem abrupt, but under pressure, he does all he can to look after the patients for whom he deeply cares about. Socially, he’s fiercely independent, showing no signs of truly settling down anytime soon. I guess, in any part of life, Doug is intent of reaching the top, at all costs.
Jadu talks about his character in Neighbours.
Prior to his fame, he made his debut in the entertainment industry as a composer for an Australian show, Byte Me. He did his first acting in an Indian film, Sorry Bhai! as a student in the year 2008. The same year, he was seen in Two Fists, One Heart as a Ringside Official.

Prior to getting cast as Doug Harris, he finished working on TAJ and resorted to poker to make a living.
In Perth, I had been working mainly on independent films. Children’s interactive theatre and also scriptwriting. However, in early 2009, I came to Melbourne to work on “TAJ”. After the shoot, I resorted to poker to cover rent and a living until months later, Neighbours graced me with this wonderful opportunity.
Appeared as Vilgefortz in The Witcher
Mahesh Jadu is the talk of the town nowadays! He is receiving huge limelight for reprising his role as Vilgefortz of Roggeveen in the second season of Netflix‘s The Witcher.
He is a Mage of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers till now. But, if the story follows The Witcher book series, then he will soon turn into a villain. We might see his villainous side in the third season. Let’s just wait and watch!
Not Trained in Acting
Mahesh Jadu, who has 19 acting credits in his name, hasn’t gone to drama school. He has never had any acting training and has been learning on the job.
The idea for me is to get on to as many sets with as many different creative people as possible.
Apart from his career as an actor and storyteller, he has also taught at the Perth Film School occasionally.
I never thought I was qualified to do that but I realised that the centre of what I teach is … what would I have liked to tell myself at that stage of the craft.
