Michael Anthony Strahan is a former professional football player who played as the defensive end for the New York Giants. He is currently serving as the host of ABC’s Good Morning America. He also serves as a journalist and football analyst.

Mike was born to Louise Strahan (a basketball coach) and Gene Strahan (a retired Army Major and boxer) as the youngest child of six on November 21, 1971, in Houston, Texas.

Professionally, he is very successful and has earned a huge amount of net worth ($65 million as of 2021). But when it comes to his personal life, he has faced two unsuccessful marriages. Firstly, he was married to Wanda Hutchins and later on with Jean Muggli but none of his marriages lasted forever.

Married to Wanda Hutchins for Four Years

Michael Strahan and Wanda Hutchins first met while both of them were in the Mannheim Christian Academy. They started dating after some time. Michael transferred to the Westbury High School in Houston in his senior year to play football and during that time, they had a long-distance relationship for around a year.

In 1992, they got married while both of them were in their early 20s. However, after four years, the pair decides to get separated. They didn’t reveal the reason for their separation.

Following their divorce, Wanda preferred to stay away from the limelight, and on the other hand, her husband got married to Jean Muggli.

Unsuccessful Marriage with Jean Muggli

Jean Muggli and Michael Strahan got married on July 18, 1999, following Michael’s divorce from Wanda. While talking about their love story, they first met in 1994 at a salon plus spa where Muggli was working as a shop attendant. It was love at first sight for Mike but it wasn’t the same for her.

Jean was never interested in athletes because of their “typical macho” personality and she believed Michael was the same. However, she found out she was wrong, and soon after, they started their relationship.

Their Controversial Divorce

Unfortunately, Michael Strahan’s second marriage also didn’t work well and in 2006, they divorced. According to New York Times, the reason for their divorce was Michael’s extramarital affairs and domestic violence.

However, Strahan divulged that he would never physically harm his loved ones. The case was dismissed after Muggli accepted that Michael hadn’t touched her.

As a divorce settlement, Jean received $15.3 million. In addition to this, she also received $18 thousand per month as child support but later on, in 2008, it was reduced to $13 thousand after Strahan retired from the NFL. Over a decade later, she claimed that her former partner hadn’t paid her enough and that he still had to pay her over $540 thousand.

There was a similar incident where Jean refused to send her daughters to Europe for a vacation with Michael. She argued that she needed to be paid $43,178.50 for the maintenance of horses but the court decided against Muggli and Strahan took them on a vacation to Portugal and Croatia.

Case Against Jean for Child Abuse in 2020

As per the reports obtained by TMZ on March 11, 2020, Michael claimed that his former partner was abusing their daughters. He also said that his daughters are missing their equestrian practices, volleyball matches,  and therapy sessions due to their mother.

On October 13, the claims were dismissed after both of them were given joint custody of their kids. As per the court order, their daughters will spend a week at their mother’s and the next at their father’s.

Jean Muggli Arrested

Mike’s former partner Jean Muggli was arrested on Friday, June 25, 2021, in New York after she attacked her former partner, Marianne Ayer.

Marianne had filed a case accusing her of “grand larceny, disorderly conduct, harassment, coercion, and forcible touching.” Muggli was arrested after she violated the order of protection by showing up at Ayer’s house.

Father of Four

Michael Strahan has shared four kids with two wives. With his first wife, he welcomed Tanita Strahan and Michael Strahan Jr., and with his second, he has Sophia Strahan and Isabella Strahan.

Tanita Strahan

Michael Strahan welcomed his first child on November 10, 1991, while he was in a dating relationship with Wanda Hutchins. When she was born, he was just 20-year-old.

Tanita, 29, is a visual artist who has good knowledge of ink, watercolor, and digital art. She started her career as an artist back in 2013 to get rid of her retail job. She has her own website, Tanita’s Gallery Shop, where she sells her own art. Besides, she also has her own podcast series, The Infinite Finesse Podcast.

She is also a fitness freak and loves to do yoga.

As for her personal life, she is dating Calenta Mincey (an Art illustrator and singer).

Michael Strahan Jr

Michael Strahan Jr. was born on September 12, 1994, as Michael’s second child after two years of marriage.

He completed his high school graduation in 2013 and is currently a proud UTSA (University of Texas, San Antonio) alumnus.

In a 2016 Instagram post, Mike Jr. revealed that he has muscle atrophy on his left leg. He might have already recovered from the condition but he hasn’t still spoken about it.

Sophia Strahan

Sophia Strahan is one of the twin daughters of Michael and Jean. She was born on October 29, 2004. The 16-year-old has a passion for horse riding and has participated in several competitions.

Isabella Strahan

Isabella Strahan was born as the identical twin of Sophia on October 29, 2004. Unlike her twin, she has a passion for modeling.

Who is Michael Strahan Dating Now?

As of 2021, Michael Strahan has not publically spoken about his relationship status but he was seen last with Kayla Quick. They started dating in 2015.

While talking about his dating history, he dated Stefani Vara from 2006 to 2007. After this, he was in a relationship with Nicole Mitchell Murphy and even got engaged in 2009. But they called it off in 2014. He has also dated Marianna Hewitt for short period in 2014. There was also a huge rumor of him dating Kelly Ripa.
