Michael Anthony Strahan is a former football player who played for the New York Giants as a defensive end for 14 seasons. He’s now a journalist and football analyst.

Strahan was born to Gene and Louise Strahan as the youngest of six children on November 21, 1971, in Houston Texas. His dad was a boxer and retired Army Major while his mother was a basketball coach.

Michael’s Real Estate

Michael Strahan bought his first house for $163,000 in Houston in 1997. Three years later, he purchased a house on Gregorian Heights for $1.3 million. In 2007, he sold his Montclair mansion for $3.6 million.

The following year, he bought a $1.665 million mansion made in 1991 sq. ft in Lower Manhattan featuring two beds and two bathrooms. It was later sold for $2.4 million in 2014.

He had also had a $17 million house which he bought when he was engaged to Nicole Mitchell Murphy. In 2015, he sold his  Los Angeles house for a whopping $21.5 million. The mansion featured a 59-foot swimming pool, a home theater, an expansive lawn,  a game room, a sauna, a Prohibition-style wine cellar with a drinking lounge, and a sitting room with a fireplace. 

Car Collection

Michael Strahan’s first car was the 1993 GMC Typhoon which he bought after he got drafted into the New York Giants in 1993. Soon after that, he purchased a 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo.

He taught me, and my dad definitely taught me how to drive and gave me more instruction than I needed. It was very frustrating to drive with him. My father and mother were the real ones that taught me to drive.

Divorce Settlement

Back in 2007, Michael Strahan’s funds were severely depleted after he had to pay $15.3 million to his then-wife Jean Muggli as a divorce settlement.

He also had to pay $18 thousand per month as child support. The amount was later reduced to $13 thousand after Strahan retired from the NFL in 2008.

Charity

Michael Strahan is also a social worker who has been involved in various organizations such as the American Cancer Society and the Children’s Miracle Network. Mostly, he is known for his volunteer work at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
