Troy Dendekker is a celebrity spouse famous for being the better half of the late Bradley Nowell (guitarist and lead singer of the 90’s band Sublime). After the death of her husband, she’s been trying to carry on the legacy created by the band and has proposed a documentary about the band’s journey.

Dendekker was born to Robert “Chico” Dendekker and Nikki Dendekker on March 8, 1971. She was raised alongside her brother Draak Dendekker. Unfortunately, her brother is no more.

Married to Bradley Nowell For Only a Week

While most of us know Troy Dendekker is the widow of Sublime’s lead singer, Bradley Nowell, very few know they were together as a married couple for only a week. More on this later!

The pair started dating soon after they first met. After dating for a few months, Troy became pregnant and welcomed their first child, Jakob James Nowell on June 25, 1995.

A year after Jakob’s birth, on May 18, 1996, the duo walked down the aisle in a Hawaiian-themed wedding in Las Vegas. However, their marriage didn’t last forever as Bradley died a week later. It has been more than two decades, but Troy still seems to have the same love for her late partner.

Tragic Death of Her Husband

Troy Dendekker’s husband lost his life on May 25, 1996, due to an overdose of heroin at the age of 28. The incident took place at the Ocean View Motel in San Francisco while he was staying with his band members.

One of the band members, Bud Gaugh found Bradley lying unconsciously. When the paramedics arrived, he was pronounced dead on the spot. It was revealed he had died several hours earlier. His ashes were scattered around his favorite surfing spot in Surfside, California.

Following the death of her husband due to drugs, she has ben running awareness programs about drug addiction.

A Little about Bradley Nowell

Bradley Nowell was born on February 22, 1968, in Belmont Shore, Long Beach, California, the USA.

He founded the band named  Sublime in 1988 along with bassist Eric Wilson and drummer Bud Gaugh where he was the lead singer and guitarist. Prior to this, he worked for some other bands.

In 1991, they released their debut album, Jah Won’t Pay the Bills. Following year, they released their second album, 40oz. to Freedom. The album was listed on No. 140 on the Billboard 200 chart. Likewise, it also earned two platinum certifications in the United States. The band released its third album, Robbin’ the Hood in 1994 which was certified gold in the US.

In 1996, the band released their self-titled album after Nowell’s demise. This album hit 6 Platinum records in the US and one Platinum record in New Zealand. The album also reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200.

Son – Jakob James Nowell

Jakob James Nowell has followed the footsteps of his late father and is involved in the music sector. Well, he is a songwriter and the lead singer of the band, Law.

Regarding his personal life, he is engaged to a lady named Ashlyn Zeda. He proposed his fiancee on September 23, 2019.

Re-Married to Kiki Holmes

Five years after her husband’s demise, Troy Dendekker married for the second time to Keith Holmes (Kiki Holmes) on November 1, 2002. Kiki shared a picture of their wedding certificate on their 14th anniversary in a now-deleted post.

The pair have already parted ways. Although they filed for divorce on July 25, 2018, there are still no updates about their separation.

Shared Three Kids with Her Second Husband

Troy has shared three kids: Erica Angel, Mary Jane, and Rudi Holmes with her second husband. The former couple welcomed their first daughter, Erica a year after their marriage in 2003. Similarly, on November 11, 2004, they welcomed their second daughter, Mary Jane. After four years of Mary’s birth, she welcomed her third child, a son, Rudi on May 12, 2008.

All of her four kids have maintained a good bond with each other. According to Troy, Jakob is a very caring and supportive brother to all of her three kids from her second husband.
